A little
about my training is that I am a Licensed Master Social Worker, recognized
by the State of Texas as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Licensed
Clinical Social Worker – LCSW). I received my graduate degree
in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin in 2000, with
a concentration in Clinical Social Work.
During
my studies, I was a fellow at the School of Social Work Research Department
and worked on a longitudinal adoption study. During internships and
since earning my graduate degree, I have worked extensively in the
non-profit arena and in private practice focusing on parenting, teen
pregnancy, child abuse, domestic violence, sexual and physical assault,
depression and anxiety, and marital and relational stress and divorce.
I have counseled individuals, couples, and families, and have lead
groups and workshops for adolescents, parents, educators, and therapists.
As a
result of these and other life experiences, I have come to possess
a deeply held passion and commitment to my work with individuals and
families in the areas of depression and anxiety resiliency, trauma recovery,
grief work, couples counseling, divorce and post-divorce couples counseling,
and parenting guidance through supportive counseling and psychotherapy.
If you
would like to discuss these topics further by phone, please do call
me, and we will arrange a phone consultation.
